I have some tahnini kicking around the fridge from the last time I made hummus (its about six months old). Is smell a good indicatation that it is still ok to use (I know it can go rancid)? Mine smells strongly of sesame seeds, so I assume its ok.
If you thought tahini functioned mainly as a condiment, you’ll love it in a marinade—it makes the chicken buttery tender without an overwhelming amount of sesame flavor in the finished dish. It also helps the chicken char nicely on the grill.
Roasted veggies have never tasted so indulgent. Topped with an herbaceous tahini sauce and salty-sweet, caramelized dates and walnuts, these crispy cauliflower steaks are just the veggie side that you've been looking for.
