TACOS EL GALLITO (Pasadena taco truck)

ipsedixit | Feb 17, 200702:21 PM     13

I recently posted if anyone had tried the taco truck on Fair Oaks in Pasadena, http://www.chowhound.com/topics/365408 , and got no real response.

Day after day I kep driving by and kept seeing the truck.

Well, last night when I drove by I spied that Tacos El Gallito had a hunk of pork on a rotating vertical spit ... well, that finally did it. I had to try the place, even though I had dinner plans later than night.

I ordered an asada and al pastor. The al pastor from the spit was nicely charred on the outside and tender and well-marinated on the inside. The marinade/juice was literally dripping off the tortillas with each bite. Tacos came with onions, cilantro and your choice of salsa and chilis. The asada was good as well, but some of it was a bit dry.

That was all I tried as I didn't wasn to completly ruin my appetite for dinner, but I'll probably go back and try it some more.
