Tacos Autlense in Mountain View closes

I have been to so many out of the way Mexican restaurants since I first visited Eddie's on Santa Clara St.,San Jose, CA during my college years in 1976. For $3.50, I could get a really deeelicious and huge Mexican dinner on a Sunday while living at San Jose State. Three years ago, I had discovered a great Mexican restaurant that had just opened at an old A&W hamburger drive-in in the City of Mountain View on Moffett Blvd. They had the most deelicious hard shelled chicken tacos I've ever had. They have this chicken that is so tasty and moist and not in red sauce, a big crispy taco shell that is very flaky which is really different for a taco shell and the three slices of perfect avocado. It also has just the right amount of lettuce and tomato. I think I paid less that $2. In three years, I have tried everything on their deelicious menu and it turned out to be the place for me to stop along Central Expressway. I stopped there on Sunday, October 9, 2005 and they were closed. There was a man there, looking in the window and also surprised that they were closed. I was thinking, hmmm, when a van drove up and stared at the restaurant probably also thinking "What?" I came home and called their sister location on Story and McLaughlin and a woman said that they do not own that location anymore. That was a convenient location for me but I'll plan to visit their Story Rd. location.
