Tacos anyone???

chefMD | Jan 6, 2009 09:06 PM

inspired by last nights "no reservations" and my longing for good mexican i tried(if it is possible) to out-do my last excursion for burgers. we went on a taco hunt today, from point to asbury park. al pastor, lingua, carnitas, al carbon, and even chivo(goat) and orejas(pig's ears). i must say, the quality of tortillas just plain s*&^^%%@%^@!!!!!!

we did encounter some great meats and good prices unlike some favs from this board in keyport and freehold, sorry ; ( but a taco should not be more than 2.50 and even that is pushing the limit. but this did answer a question brought up on this board.

is there authentic mexican food here in jersey? IMHO, traditional ingredients and recipes are a must but after that, its highly subjective. the person or chef making the food can still be a bad cook.....

BTW....went into surf taco for the first pork on the menu? thai chili srimp tacos? this is NOT a taco shop, i don't care how good it is. come on, ya gotta have pork!!!!!

reviews to follow along with a gut check from boom burger for dessert!
