For Valentine's day we had a lovely dinner at Sushiya on 56th St. bet. 5th and 6th ave. and it became our new favorite japanese place.
Delicious appetizers - the grilled scallops were big and fresh, the beef negimaki's filling had a superb slight bitterness; as for the sashimi, the only way I can describe it is "like butter". The scallops were incredible, the salmon a standout - however, every bit of the others were as good, with distinct flavours and freshness.
The service was very attentive, and the prices are very reasonable: a platter of sashimi deluxe (18 pieces) only $18.
Yeah! for Sushiya. We'll definitely become regulars.
