Sushi Yasuda - Etiquette Question

Melanie | Mar 26, 2008 07:32 AM

Hello all,

This may be a question for the 'General Topics Board,' but I'll start here: I am going to Sushi Yasuda on Friday night. We were lucky enough to get seats at the bar in front of Chef Yasuda.

I plan on omakase, but I always think that the amount of rice served with the nigiri is too much. I like only a very small amount of rice with my fish. Can I tell him that, or would that be considered rude? (Also, before anyone says that Chef Yasuda doesn't serve too much rice with the nigiri, please note that I have sat in front of the great chef before and I do think there is too much rice - it's just my taste preference.)

Thank you so much for any insight or opinions!
