Stopped by the Lobster Place (?) in the Chelsea Market and picked up some tuna and salmon to make sushi. They had many other kinds of fish but they only recommended the tuna and salmon for sushi.
They had Arctic Char that looked great but when I asked if it was sushi-grade the women pointed to the tuna and salmon and said "sushi" (she didn't speak much English).
The tuna was good, not great, a little better than you'd get at the local run-of-the-mill take out sushi joint. I cooked the salmon (pretty good).
Are there any other places in the city that have sushi grade fresh fish (preferably not a block of fish in a wrapper)? Perhaps something more than just tuna and salmon?
