Sushi Island Wakefield to close!!

RoyRon | Aug 21, 201304:04 PM     10

Sad news yesterday in an e-mail from Junji and Akiko Aoki, owners of Sushi Island. They have announced that they will be closing Sushi Island by the end of this month. The good news is that they are going to open a smaller place but the location hasn't been determined yet. As a big supporter of Sushi Island I will be especially sad to see it close. It is one of the only true, authentic and Japanese owned Japanese restaurants in the Boston area and hands down the best Japanese restaurant in the North Shore area.

While I 'm saddened to see them close I am hoping that they open a new place soon and I would love to see them open a true Japanese isakaya style place which, other than one other place, Boston doesn't have any of.
