I really enjoy sush/sashimi but have limited experience with it. I had the opportunity to go to Sushi Supreme on Yonge last night and had a very good meal with lots of variety. I used the usual supporting actors, soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.
Some time after eating, I noticed a salty-chemical sensation in my mouth. It's the same one that I get after eating some sugarless gums and diet drinks. After investigating online, I determined that the cause was most likely the artificial sweeteners in the ginger! Who would know?
My question is, are there any sushi restaurants in Toronto which use ginger without artificial sweeteners? I much prefer the taste and health benefits of sugar over aspartame.
