After my week as a shell-shocked homebody, I finally got sick of my own cooking and went out to the Citarella restaurant at Rock Center last night. And glad I did, because the food was fab. Four of us, and not a single dish a dog, but there was a clear winner (and I got it): a beautiful torpedo made with soft slices of potato wrapped around a piece of turbot and some lovely shredded braised oxtail. Good God amighty. Now, I might ask the chef why turbot instead of some firmer fish with a stronger flavor. But the whole thing was so good I'm not going to question it.
Pretty great cheese plate, too.
