My deep fryer died this morning. This is my third or fourth. I don't fry a lot, but I like the control of the fryer appliance. I have an old one-temp slow cooker that is solid, but would kind of like to replace, a cheap rice cooker that works well and a Wolfgang Puck pressure cooker that works well, but I don't use it a lot. Since these four things take up space, the allure of a multi-cooker is strong.
I've read the posts here that chow's search found. The Instant Pot looks pretty good, but it doesn't fry (at least not ones I found). I have an Anova Sous Vide I really like, too BTW.
I'm torn between getting some kind of multi-cooker for three of the functions and doing the other with an existing device or something else, or maybe getting an induction burner for the fryer and slow and rice cookers, using existing pans. I live right now at 8500 feet so the pressure feature really helps when making beans, for example. I do slow and pressure cook for longer than recipes suggest due to altitude. My cheap rice cooker works fine. Decisions, decisions.
Are there any multi-cookers that do all I want affordably? Any other ideas?
