My wife and I are organizing a "whiskey" (in a broad sense, including rye, bourbon, and scotch) tasting for the first time. We have settled on the specific items but struggling a bit with the order. I expect, like wine, you'd want to start with lighter flavor and go heavier, but we are not sure how it translates with this type of alcohol, in part because we have not tried many of the selections.
Any advice you have on a general approach for such a tasting, or specific suggestions based on our 9 selections below, is greatly appreciated!
Bourbon - Weller, Old Rip Van Winkle
Irish Whiskey - Green Spot, Redbreast
Scotch - Glennfiddich, Lagulvin
American Rye - George Dickel, Leopold Brothers, Masterson
