Attractive restaurant, clean and modernwithout feeling sterile. I like the open kitchen. I did see that the head chef/owner was there, which often isn't the case for lunch.
The fresh baken bread with whipped butter they brought was an auspicious start. However, my lunch entree, grilled shrimp salad, was not good. The shrimp were small (40-50 count?), too few (4-5), overcooked, and flavorless. The salad greens had some clearly spoiled leaves and the dressing was too acrid. But my wife's choice, the Starlu burger, was wonderful. It is a strange concoction consisting of ground pork with NC BBQ stuffed in the middle. It came with a wonderful slaw, and shoestring french fries. A bit pricy though for $11.
Our waitress wasn't particularly good. She didn't mention the special of the day (heard it from the waiter waiting the table next to us) and was slow to refill glasses and bring the check.
Overall, I'd say the experience was inconsistent, typical of a newly opened restaurant I suppose. Next time I'll give them a shot for dinner.
