Had one of the most memorable and delicious 'seafood' dinner in TO this evening. The 'trust me' oyster platter put together by Patrick, consisted of 8 different varietals and was a definite 'taste opener'. Yummmy!! However, the experience was totally surpassed by the 'Pan seared Pickerel with lobster/foie gras reduction'. Last time I had such great tasting and perfectly cooked fish dishes were at the Michelin 2* restaurant 'Le Divellec' in Paris and Le Bernadin in New York. Braaavo!! But wait! The taste experience didn't stopped with the entree. What's really amazing was how great a seafood/oyster bar can produce 3 of the tastiest dessert anywhere. The flourless chocolate cake with chocolate grenache was so good that I swear I heard my daughter moaned with every bite! Forget about the small menu selection and mediocre decor. James Chatto should give it 4*!!! Afterall, it's the taste of the food that counts!!
PS: My son , who is a meat lover, broke the rule and ordered the 'Rare roasted magret of duck with blue berry and port reduction'. I swear it tasted as good if not better than most 'land based' 3-4* restaurants in town!
