i live half a block from Sripraphai in woodside queens. I've gone there a few times since i moved to the neighborhood because i heard everyone rave about how authentic the food is.
The first time was the best. Green curry (made vegetarian) was hot and damn good, it had green figs. I had roast pork w/basil, good but a lot for one person and slightly greasy, still good.
Second time I had the cocunut based chicken lemongrass soup, good, but standard-ish. Someone I was with ordered the required pad-thai, good but also standard.
Third time I got food to go, pad thai and papaya salad. Both could have been good, but weren't. Pad thai was gluey, salad had way too many dried shrimp.
what am i missing? I really want to love this restaraunt.
What should I order next time? What are the best vegetarian/vegan options (if any)?
