Spots Cafe: Great breakfast in Watertown

We're breakfast lovers and two of our great quests involve finding breakfast places with good bread and good jam. Town Diner is about the only place that fills that bill, because they still serve marmalade in glass jam jars and their bread is good to very good. This little cafe on Main Street going toward Waltham also fills the bill. Its charming inside, small and with nice touches like a collection of miniature china and paris bistro prints. The menu (be still my heart!) includes a homemade baguette toasted and served with a dish of real jam! Enough for two to share and the coffee is good, fresh, and strong. We're lucky to go on off hours (more like 9:30 during the week than 7:30) and have found it just about empty. My husband loved his omelet (not overloaded and overcooked he said) and the bread they serve with eggs is au pain dore white or whole grain, toasted and yummy. His side of bacon was very generous: 4 slices, crisp and of good quality. We're going back to work our way through the pancakes and french toast. There are a few parking spots in the little lot next to the cafe and usually on street parking when we come. The prices are on the Town Diner level and this "trying hard" cafe deserves chowhound attention from those of you lookinig for a good breakfast spot. Their soups are homemade so we're guessing they might be just fine for lunch too.
