A short while back I was in a restaurant where the waitperson rattled off a list of around 10 "specials" that weren't on the menu. I was impressed that the server was able to remember so many different dishes and all the pertinent details, and I made some comment about how the person was able to remember so much. The server replied, "Oh, it's easy, we have the same specials every night." OK folks, what do you think? Why would a restaurant have the same "specials" every night? Are they trying to hide the cost of their most expensive dishes by not mentioning it? Are they just too cheap to update the menu? Do they think that a lot of "specials" makes them special? Have others out there run into this? Does it bother anyone else?
