Thank you MC Slim and Sal Monella for the Caffe Umbria recommendation. We decided to head there after looking over a former menu and I was not disappointed. The meal was excellent!!! We had everything...delicious silken corn soup with crisped leeks, frisee salad with poached egg (yum!) and lamb pate with brioche. Main courses were scallops with corn risotto (scallops were cooked to perfection and risotto was buttery goodness) and lamb(med/rare) with phyllo purse of something or other and eggplant with heirloom tomato...lamb was good not great but the dish was put together well and tasted good with all of the components. Dessert was a rustic apple tart and toffee pudding. As a baker myself, I thought the apple tart was FABULOUS. Toffee pudding was good but we liked the tart best. I had a delicious Pinot Noir by the glass and bf had Beaujolais (sp?) which tasted a bit young. Service was great...thanks for the recommendations, would love to go back!!! P.S. If I wasn't driving I would have loved to try some of their signature drinks they looked yummy.
