South Dakota-Rapid City, Hill City Recommendations Needed!

bustlingswan | Aug 18, 201501:26 PM     3

Hello South Dakotans! I am coming for a visit in October to do the Crazy Horse Marathon and am wondering what your favorite spots for food and drink might be. I searched previous threads but most seem to be a few years old. I am interested in:
-dinner spots, either casual, local specialties or fancier fare is fine
-places with good breakfast or lunch
-tasty local beers

I will have a car rented so I don't mind exploring a bit as I have no idea how close together or far apart things may be in that area. I am travelling alone so if any of these places are also carry-out or would not look askance at a lone diner that is a plus.

Any favorites I should check out? Many thanks in advance!!
