[South Cheshire] Boar's Head, Walgherton

A bit "middle of nowhere" on the A51, south of Nantwich, but a useful lunch spot if passing that way (or, particularly, visiting Europe's largest garden centre at nearby Bridgemere).

Not a gastro-pub by any stretch of the imagination but definately a place to eat rather than drink. Fairly standard menu running from sandwiches through pasta to grills. I was only hungry enough for a sandwich today (gammon) which came with some salad and bitingly hot English mustard (seemed hotter to me than Colman's). On past visits, I've had something more substantial from the daily specials menu - "pie of the day" is always a winner, comes with spuds and a selection of seasonal veg. Mains are in the 7 - 8 quid area.

They make a bit of an effort here, IMO. Friendly staff.
