M and M Soul Food is in a mini mall with a 7-11, on west centinella behind Fox Hills and near the new Hughes Promenade. I had trouble finding it. Now I take 405 S to Hughes/Sepulveda exit. When I get to Sepulveda, turn right(north) and then turn right again on centinella. Then follow Centinella up the hill and it will be on the right. If you hit La Tierra, you've gone too far.

I have had lunch there twice this week. First was fried chicken, yams, and mac and cheese. $6.99 including sweet tea. The portions were HUGE! One breast, two wings, and 2 sides. Plus cornbread muffins.
The chicken was superb. A little salty for my taste, but fresh and hot with a nice cornmeal crust. Not greasy. The yams were sweet and moist, just right. The mac and cheese was only ok. Not the best, but ok.
The next time I had meatloaf, cornbread stuffing, and string beans with sweet tea. $6.99. Fabulous! The portion again was huge. Three sliced of meatloaf in a brown gravy. Very tasty, and no gnarly bits. The spice was heavy on pepper and very tasty. The stuffing was moist and tasty but the beans were overcooked and not great. Other things on the lunch menu include red snapper, catfish, oxtails, pork chops, chitlin's, and several chicken dishes.
The staff was very friendly and although I was the only non-AA in the room, I was made to feel like a regular local. I grew up in Atlanta in the 60's eating at Paschal's and know good southern from wannabe. This place rocks!
