Solo dining

The deal:
Once a week or so, I get to eat out by myself.

The quest:
Good food. Any nationality. I like almost every cuisine I've tried, but am particularly fond of Japanese, Thai, Chinese, most of the Latin American/Southa American places that I have tried, and so on. I love Italian food and good American food, but have eaten a lot of it; I'd like to explore the world.

The details:
Should be places where I am comfortable eating alone. Not crazy expensive (say a max of $50 for a dinner and a glass of wine or a beer, but with preference for less than that)
Doesn't have to be elegant/fancy, but would prefer a place that lets me linger a bit.
