The discussion of beer cans vs. bottles reminded me of something that struck me when I was reading the DiFara's entry in Jim's book. He quotes the owner as saying that to him, a soda in a plastic cup just doesn't taste as good as one in a glass. Anyone can relate to that, I'd think -- a soda served in a glass does seem better. Here's the question: why? Is it just that the experience of drinking from a glass is more pleasing than from a plastic cup, or is there an actual, definable way in which it tastes better?
