Smucker's Fudge Topping - still good after long time in fridge?

blueartemis4 | May 22, 201709:42 PM     6

I have a jar of Smucker's Simple Delight Hot Fudge Topping in my fridge. I have no idea how long it's been open, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's been a year or more. The expiration date isn't until 2018, but I know that some items are supposed to be used within a certain time frame after opening them. The jar says "refrigerate after opening," and while most of the ingredients seem like things that would last a long time without any refrigeration at all (i.e., sugar, corn syrup), nonfat milk is the third ingredient listed. I'm guessing it's alright but wanted to be sure.
