I'm looking to get a few friends together for dinner in a couple of weeks, and wanted some suggestions on the best small group (4-5) dining experiences in NYC. I'd prefer somewhere fun, delicious and relatively inexpensive (that doesn't mean cheap, just not $100 a plate). We already tried Gyu-Kaku, which is one of those restaurants where you cook your own meat; and we enjoyed that.
Please note, we're a group that likes to laugh a lot, so no stuffy, ritzy places!
Any type of food is OK.
