We will be in Italy this October and I have gotten lots of awesome suggestions for Venice and Rome, but I need a little extra help with our Tuscany part of the trip.
We will be taking a train to Chiusi and renting a car. We are staying at the Hotelito Lupaia in Torrita di Siena which is between Pienza and Montepulciano. This will be towards the end of our trip and I think we will have eaten rather well by then and may not want such big heavy, lavish meals. We will have been in Paris and Venice first and then finishing in Rome.
We only have 3 nights, but want a great experience. This is our first time to Italy (my dream location always, but always picked a country that was a better value at that moment!)
It looks like Aquacheta in Montepulciano will be one night, but we need 2 other suggestions. We don't need fancy or particularly expensive, at that point, just really good food in a great environment and not too far away.
Also, does anybody have suggestions for what would be a good wine tour with lunch perhaps? We are a bit apprehensive about driving, but it doesn't look like there is a choice in this area, so driving it is.
Also, any one day cooking classes in the area?
This is such an awesome sight and I have gotten so many wonderful recommendations already. It is obvious, that the people on this board are just so passionate about their travels and their food, it is a delight to read about their adventures.
Thanks for your generosity in sharing information... any additonal information on anything is also welcome!!!!
