Though we did not eat out lots during our eight day stay as we rented a condo, here is a report- for whatever it is worth. Barrio Cafe- great food pleasant, fun service even though they were very busy- great margaritas and good churros. Definitely worth the drive. La Grande Orange- fun for sandwhiches, pizza and breakfast. Always busy. Good ice cream next door- had blood orange- I am pastry chef and specialize in ice cream. Tapino wine Bar and Restaurant. Not busy on Sunday night- jazz band- fun wine flights- love the clever names- good food not great- especially liked the beef tri tip tapas. Fun place to go for wine. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! Went to Roaring Fork with no reservations- as I had heard good things on this site- They were able to take us. We ordered our meal about 6:50. Got drinks and wine right away. Got one Cesar salad about 7:15. It was the worst Ceasar we have ever had. Old, tough outer leaves and the dressing was rancid tasting. They did comp this. We did not recieve our entree until 8:15!!! An adjacent table, who ordered after we did, got their entress prior to us. After speaking to the waiter twice- he was very apologetic- we did receive our dinner. I am in the business and there was definitely something wrong with the kitchen that night. My entree, short ribs with grits was just ok. My husband enjoyed his trout. The waiter did offer to comp dessert, but since none were appealing- he comped the salad instead. They did try to do the right thing, butI would never reccommend this place. We did enjoy our meal and wine at Atlas Bistro- running out of steam!
