Sedona - Oak Creek Area DESPERATE

Bbdcnyc | Aug 16, 2016 07:36 AM

NYC Family on an extended camping trip through the SW finishing our 3 week travel in Sedona Az for 2 days (Aug 16 - Aug 18 2016) and we are sick of burgers, dogs, sausage and other camping type foods. We were hoping to do a finale with some great SW food at the end of the trip. I figured that I could just simply troll my goto of Chowhound for recent area recommendations, but it looks like the last post that I'm finding for Sedona was over a year ago? And being a NYer I know that a year is a lifetime for a restaurant.
Can any of my fellow Chowers help out? Please I'm desperately in need of food help!!

Working Envelope:
¤ Open to all foods - Preferably SW fare (Latin leaning) just because we are here in SW - Spicy is great
¤ Cheap and moderately priced establishments.
* We are not opposed to pricy places - although, cost does not always equal quality. And great food can be created without great cost.
* Remember we are coming from CAMPING for the past 3 weeks.
* Food trucks and road side stands are great options. We are NY Foodies and know that great food can be created in very humble places. And in great cities, the street food can be much better that white table joints.
¤ Breakfasts can be quick grab-N-go as the late start will bring on the heat of the day for vacationers and busy visiting travelers
¤ Open to lunches but much of the lunches we have been doing are packed and eaten while hiking or other
¤ Dinners should be relatively casual with as much opportunity to be outside as possible. NYers (City dwellers) We are always looking to connect with nature as NYC has so little nature oops.
¤ Places where the locals eat are best. Although we are visitors, we like to eat and gain the experience and perspective of the local people.

Thanks to all that rise to to Chow call. We are leaving the SW from Sedona and would be excited to top off the trip with whatever great food that this great City can offer.
