In search of a "seafood" restaurant for dinner in Costa Mesa/Huntington Beach/Newport Beach area

I got nothin | Dec 6, 201012:33 PM

Trying to plan a nice dinner out with some friends this week, the wife says she wants seafood, and I draw a blank. I used to like the Cannery, but have been disappointed the last two times. Sushi is not an option for this meal, so I'm kind of struggling here. I like Walt's Wharf in Seal Beach, but looking for something else since everyone in the group has been there many times. Scott's Seafood in Costa Mesa is just alright. Don't feel like driving all the way to Mastro's Ocean Club since the friends will be driving down from up north. I thought about doing S Vietnamese Fine Dining for a little different take on it, but I'm not sure if that is "seafoody" enough to appease the wife. Marche Moderne's menu has some seafood options, but I'm afraid the choices might be too limited as well. I've yet to try out any of the Vietnamese Cajun crawfish spots, but I don't know if my dining companions would be up for the mud-bugs. Where should we go for the best seafood in the HB/CM/NB area? Price is not a concern. Help me Chow-Hounders, you're my only hope.
