SEA: where to find whole sumac

cass | Mar 5, 2005 01:43 PM

Hi - I'm looking for someplace in Seattle that sells whole (not powdered) sumac. My mom's favorite Middle Eastern grocery store (in NJ) closed and she can't find whole sumac to use in making yolangi (stuffed grape leaves, Armenian version, hope I spelled it correctly).

When she visited last, we looked at a few places near the market (Market Spice, World Merchants, also the little Middle Eastern grocery near Three Girls). No luck. I need to try Whole Foods, or mail/internet order, but I'd be interested to know if there's another option. Thanks!!!
