going to Per Se in about a week and a half and was hoping to see some more reviews before then (loved Robert's review so far!! wonderfully descriptive).
has no else been this week?
some friends of mine went last Sun. and they raved about the chef's menu, particularly the lobster & the agu/prime rib beef (they said they've never had better lobster, even in Maine & RI) (they also felt that the foie gras was mediocre and not worth the $20 supplement - much better elsewhere). they also raved about the service - the entire staff was extraordinarly nice and helpful they said - no attitude whatsoever and they were not dressed to the nines. They did say, however, that they were uncomfortably full by the end of the 9 course meal - for reference they are 2 women with modest (but not tiny) appetites.
So, can anyone else weigh in on the portions and whether we should not eat much that day? do we skip the bread? also, has anyone ordered 2 nine course meals and asked for 2 different menus so that there are no duplications? (I saw the suggestion below). If so, were you happy with what they offered? Does anyone have any input on wine selections for the 9 course menu (given that certain menu items do change daily I'm told).
