Scones and Pecan Rolls (review)

We hosted a mother's day brunch yesterday and fleshed out the homemade portion of the menu with scones from Petsi's Pies and Pecan Rolls from Wilson Farm.

Both were a great big hit.

The scone flavors were Lemon, Blueberry/Mango and Cranberry/Ginger. I was lucky enough to score tastes of the first two and thought they were both great. The lemon scone is fairly dense with lovely tartness balanced out by some sweetness in the lemon frosting. The blueberry/mango scone was less dense, moister and filled with fruit. It was also delicious. Scones at Petsi's are $1.75/each.

The pecan rolls were dense and doughy (in a good way) with good cinnamon flavor between the layers. The pecan topping was gooey but didn't pervade the dough as it does in some cases. In other words, the filling between the layers was not nutty or gooey but consisted mainly of spice. I can't actually recall how much they cost. They came in a package of 4 and I'm sure they were at least $4.98 if not more.
