The late lamented Shane's Bakery thread made me think on a few things
1. Where can I get good fresh Irish Scones in the Jackson Heights/Woodside area.
2. Does anyone know where you can get a decent quality gooseberry jam/preserve. I don't believe I have ever seen fresh gooseberries in NY but I would love to be proved wrong.
BTW the Columbian orange 'gooseberries' are great but are nothing like the sour hairy grapes I grew up eating in Scotland.
3. Where can I get clotted cream. The owner of Myers of Keswick in the city told me clotted cream does not meet US pasteurisation standards and is strictly speaking 'illegal' - is this true?
