I'm eying the two recipes below for scalloped potatoes - one with fennel, one with leeks. Which would you choose or nix. Other ideas are welcome! The appeal is being able to make a day or two ahead versus mashed which, though better with gravy, are not easy to keep warm. I've read about keeping them in the crockpot, etc., but seems risky. I'm not an accomplished cook and haven't made a complete turkey dinner in a few years.
