We had taken a little break from going, mostly to avoid burning out as we were on a once a week schedule for several months. Last night was so summer like that the patio called to us, not to mention the food.
My wife loves their fried shrimp dinner. They always have such fresh tasting, large and beautifully deep fried shrimp. It comes with a little potato salad and some shredded slaw and a dollop of hot mustard on the side, and a miso soup to start. I had the same fried shrimp, but in a curry sauce. That's not on the menu, but they will make it for you anyway. I also got a side order of their spicy fries, which I love...and I ate every last one of them by my lonesome. Tab, with one coke and one ice tea came to $27 + tip of $5.
Sawtell Kitchen is located one quarter block south of LaGrange on the east side of Sawtell Blvd. in West LA.
Then we went down to Nijiya Market to buy some groceries and made it home with one of their whip cream strawberry cakes and had dessert. I was a highly satisfied man.... ;-D
