A group of Hounds gets together about every other week at the Reading Terminal Market to discuss food topics. Anyone who eats is welcome to join us, the "Saturday Morning Breakfast Club".
We meet next this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the seating area behind the Beer Garden at the Reading Terminal Market. Topic this week is rye bread: bring your favorite and/or be prepared to taste others' favorites.
We occasionally have guest speakers. Among those in the past (in addition to Reading Terminal Market merchants) have been: food science author Harold McGee, local restaurant proprietors Fritz Blanc and Judy Wicks, caviar expert Joel Assouline, candy maker S. Zitner, various cookbook authors, cheese-makers, bread-bakers, etc., etc., and so-forth. Market Manager Paul Steinke also regularly stops by to check the pulse of regular shoppers like us and let us know what's new (like the free WiFi access the RTM introduced recently).
