Saramluang - wow!

Judy Bass | Feb 7, 200501:07 PM

Six of us descended on Saramluang in Thai Town Saturday night at close to 11. We'd never been there before, but a knowledgable friend had given it a glowing recommendation and recommended a couple of dishes. It was outstanding - service quick and friendly, and the food was to die for.

I'm blanking on all we ate - we were ravenous, and ordered rather indiscrimately - but standouts were the amazing duck salad, deep-fried koo chi (not sure that's spelled right, it's an appetizer of vegetable dumplings wrapped in a rice flour dough - kind of like mochi), and meat with garlic and chile over rice (#64 on the menu).

Total for six was under $100, and we left stuffed and happy.
