Saporissimo in Boca review

Last night my wife and I ate at Saporissimo in Boca Raton, and today I feel compelled to tell my fellow chowhounders about my experience. Although the decor leaves a bit to be desired, you forget about that as soon as the chef/owner comes to your table to explain the menu. A wonderful, gregarious fellow (although his english is a bit spotty, it is part of his charm) he explains everything on his menu (a huge selection, ranging from homemade pastas, fresh fish imported from Europe, and exotic meats) and then mentions that he can create basically anything you want that isn't on the menu. We also asked for his recommendation on a bottle of wine.

Everything was fantastic. We had risotto croquetts, ravoli with porcinni mushrooms, and gnochi with pesto and smoked salmon. His wine selection was perfect, and they even decant it for you (a nice touch we haven't seen to much in Florida). We were prepaing to leave after dinner, deciding to skip desert until the tray came out (of course, with the chef) and we couldn't resit trying the flan. A very good decision. At the end of the eveing, they also bring complementary cordials. Overall, it was one of the best dinner experiences we have had since we moved to Florida.

He has only been open for a few months, and the resturant was fairly empty (obviously, season is somewhat to blame). I hope those in the mood for fine Italian food will swing by and enjoy a great meal.
