We are making our annual pilgrimage to Lopez Lake near Arroyo Grande for 5 days next week. In addition to hitting THurs night in SLO, I am looking for some great BBQ - ribs and tri-tip in particular. I've done steaks at Far Western Tavern (excellent) and Jocko's (good, not great, but it was lunch and the oak fired grill probably wasn't going) and hope to hit Hitching Post in Casmalia. Where else do you suggest, either for a casual lunch stop or for a sit-down dinner? Also, any advice on sources in the area to buy some red oak to take back home with me to use?
