Dara Thai – well this was certainly a pleasant surprise. Not saying it was the very best Thai ever, but the meal was unexpectedly, consistently delicious from start to finish. Standouts: spinach wraps (toasted coconut, ginger, peanut, and lime, served on fresh spinach leaves), green curry (I love that ‘hot’ in New Mexico actually means hot, this was a great blend of curry, coconut milk, chicken, shrimp, and fresh vegetables, a really nicely balanced dish all around), homemade coconut ice cream (smooth, subtle, not too sweet). The setting wasn’t anything to write home about, but they’ve done a nice job with what they have. Definitely happy to put this in our high rotation.
Chicago Dog Express – exactly what you’d expect from a pretty good hot dog stand in Santa Fe. Standard toppings plus red or green chile (red was better than green). Turkey dogs available on request. Friendly folks working there, nice little patio for outdoor seating. No need to go especially often, but pretty solid all the same.
