As promised over on the Ontario/Toronto board, here's my sangria recipe. I think I adapted it from a recipe on Epicurious years ago.
1 750-ml bottle of dry red wine (3 cups)
1 1/2 cups lemon-lime soda
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup brandy
2 tablespoons Cointreau or other orange liqueur
2 tablespoons grenadine
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
Fresh fruit of your choice
If you plan on keeping the sangria overnight, I recommend avoiding using citrus fruits. The pith makes the sangria bitter. But if you plan on consuming the sangria the same day, citrus is great.
