Rayette's post jogged loose an old memory of mine. I also need some help in clarifying it. While a student back in 1976, i attended a Psychology convention in N.O. We ended up eating at a place near Tulane, that was called either Mrs Sam's or Sam's . It had the strangest policy, the more casually you were dressed, the cheaper the bill was. After being seated you were brought a dozen fresh oysters, immediately followed by a huge platter of boiled crawfish. After consuming mass quantities, you were finally given a menu. I can recall not being too impressed by the menu choices, mostly fried seafood, but was dazzled when receiving my bill for only $10.00. Did i dream this place up, perhaps a drug and alcohol stupor,or does anyone else recall this place?
