Sam Woo in Cerritos - bad experience

fiery | Mar 11, 2004 11:15 AM

I went to Sam Woo in Cerritos yesterday for dinner. So far I went to Sam Woo in following locations: City of Industry, Irvine, Van Nuys, and Cerritos.

FYI: I work in Van Nuys area and I usually go to Van Nuys branch to eat lunch about 2 - 3 times a month. Personally, I like the food from Van Nuys branch. I usually have good food and enjoy eating there. I've been to Irvine and City of Industry branches also - I thought they food was fine. I enjoyed eating at Irvine also.

In Cerritos branch, I ordered 4 dishes for 3 people:
1) shrimp sizzling rice soup - soup was warm and rice wasn't sizzling at all. It was salty.
2) Singapore style noodle - this was o.k. I usually order this from Van Nuys branch. It wasn't as good as Van Nuys; but overall it was alright.
3) Rock Cod with black bean sauce - the fish wasn't fresh and it had some "chemical" like taste.
4) Seafood with tofu hot pot - this was another disaster. I usually get very hot pot with fresh tofu and seafood inside. However, what I got was a warm mixture of "old" tofu with again "chemical like taste" seafood.

I knew not all Sam Woos are same; but this one in Cerritos was just not acceptable. I will not go back to Cerritos Sam Woo.
