Salts - very disappointing

It is with a heavy heart that I post this unfortunate review of Salts - we were SO excited to eat there, and really looked forward to it, but it just didn't live up to its reputation. First, they were totally understaffed, and completely apologetic about it, but things were forgotten, our bill was wrong (in their favor), and it took 40 minutes from the time that we asked for the check to leaving the restaurant. Second, the food was really average. I got the "autumn sald" which had slices of apples and pears and roasted beets - really flat flavors. My husband got the potage, which was excellent. I had scallops for my entree - there were FOUR scallops - really an appetizer-sized portion - and several small cauliflower sprigs - and my meal was not warm. My husband had the duck, which he said was too dry. For dessert, we shared several things - the apple "pie" was sort of cutesy, with apple puree and a little crust - not that well-executed. The best dessert was the chocolate parfait....

All in all, a disappointing meal, especially for $100/pp. They were very kind about the slow service, but it still seemed unacceptable... We recently ate at Rendez-Vous, and the meal was superb and flawless. I definitely won't go back....
