Thanks to jkate and mr mouther for recs. Place is as described -- great neighborhood joint at which to enjoy an Asahi at the least. The Octopus Pancake (like a matzo ball or kreplach stuffed with octopus) was the highlight. Teppan dishes (we tried the rib eye) looked/tasted good -- love the raw egg that cooks on the steaming platter. Sushi was forgettable, but I've had worse at Nobu in Las Vegas. Next time I plan on trying more tapas-style dishes and passing on the sushi.
