Saigon Sandwich - meatball bahn mi (image)

Recently I had a sandwich from Vietnam Sandwich (formerly known as Wrap Delight) - the no. 10: meatball & roast pork, $2.25 I think. It was absolutely stuffed with meat & vegetables - quite the bargain. But I have to say that the filling was not quite as savory as some other sandwiches I've had recently (Ba Le in El Cerrito) .... still pretty good but with room for improvement. I'll continue to try their other offerings to see how their other fillings are. So, today I stopped by Saigon Sandwich after my bowl (small) of chicken soup at Turtle Tower The meatball (xao mai) bahn mi was $2.00 - I found the meatballs more savory than their counterparts at VS but the amount of filling was definitely less generous. One end of the sandwich seemed a bit bready (needed more filling) but most of it seemed just fine - even though it wasn't piled high....the mix of filling, vegetables and condiments was satisfying and worth the $2. Click on the link to see the image for comparison. Obviously, continued research is necessary :~)
