I had a great meal last night at Roy's, though I wasn't very optimistic going into the experience: The decor feels very 80's, and you definitely feel like you're in a stereotypical hotel restaurant (Roy's is in the Marriott downtown). Also, the rolls you're given are a la Pepperidge Farm. But everything after that was delicious.
We had a luscious lobster risotto, chock full of lobster meat. Next, we had a hamachi sashimi, and tuna prepared three different ways. Next, I had a fish called onaga, which they told me is a type of snapper. It was coated in a cilantro pesto and was served atop rice in a coconut curry. My husband had wild salmon with a vegetable maki. For dessert, I tried my husband's chocolate souffle, which was a good example of it, and I had a coconut dessert which was as tasty as it was beautiful.
All in all, a great experience, and one I would revisit, despite the decor.
