Has anyone been to Royal beef on the danforth lately? I used to shop their all the time and had stayed away lately as I found that the quality and servcice of their meat wasn't worth the trip, but I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd go in a and get a steak and I have to say I was very impressed. They have a new head butcher Paul, who used to be the head butcher at the Healthy Butcher and he has certainly transformed the place. All kinds of new products from berkshire pork, to local hormone free chicken and still a great selection of beef. Even the sausage selection has changed from simple italian sausages too a varietey of different options including chicken and lamb sausages. I bought some pork and a dry aged rib eye steak, and was very impressed with both, Paul suggested a squeeze of lemon on the pork chop right before cooking and it really brought out the flavour of the meat. I didnt' have a chance to try any of the other new offerings has anyone had a chance to try his new sausages or chicken or anything, I think I'll be going back again next week, I'm so happy to have a good butcher in the east end again. I strongly suggest that any meat lover check this place out .
