Rooster Andy's - LaCrosse

Thanks to Kraig and his website (see below) I stopped at Rooster Andy's Chicken-Q on Friday afternoon. It was a good experience with potential to be great. My thoughts on the place are thus:

Price: $6.00 for a half chicken dinner with two sides and a roll. That's hard to beat.

Chicken: The meat was very tender and juicy (even the white meat although the dark was better). Since the chicken had been resting in a steam table the skin was a little soggy but still flavorful. I can only imagine how good it would be fresh off the grill.

Sides: The beans were homemade and better than most although I would prefer a mix of beans rather than one variety. They buy their coleslaw but it was still good.

Service: The old guy at the counter was very friendly, offered us extra roles and was Vikings fan to boot. What more can you ask for?

Overall it was a good experience and I would definately go back although next time I will ask about the grilling schedule so I can get the chicken hot off the grill.

Thanks Kraig
