Domestically, the Chowhound board has guided me (and fed me!) through New Orleans and the Napa Valley....now we're crossing the Atlantic!
We're going to Italy for the 1st time this April and I need lots of help! We will be in Rome for 4 dinners and 3 lunches. I want to experience Rome the way the locals do...I don't need "upscale" "shi-shi" restaurants....I want good food....good wine....good panna cotta :-) !!
From the little bit of research that I have done so far, I understand that lunch is the larger of the meals (fine by me!) and dinners tend to be pizza.
We will be spending one day at The Vatican. The other 2 will be spent touring the rest of the city. We rented an apartment near the Campo de' Fiori - however - the locations of the "not-to-miss" restaurants can be anywhere in the city.
I appreciate your guidance and recommendations. Many thanks in advance!!
